Whereas, National Public Works Week is celebrated across the country the third week
of May every year to call attention to the importance of public works projects,
programs, and services in our communities.
Whereas, the Public Works Department provides many services in our community that
are an integral part of our citizens' everyday lives. The support of an understanding
and informed citizenry is vital to the efficient operation of the county transportation
and utility infrastructure.
Whereas, safety and comfort of this community greatly depends on these facilities and
services and the quality and effectiveness of these facilities, as well as their planning,
design, construction, and maintenance, is vitally dependent upon the dedicated effort
and skills of the Public Works staff.
Therefore, be it proclaimed by the Mason County Board of Commissioners, the week
