Information from the owner includes that the roof will encroach the well radius by 18 feet, and that the roof material will he a non-zinc coated metal roof. Envirotech concurs that stormwater runoff from the proposed roof will not contaminate the well. The Washington State Department of Ecology has historically stated that only zinc coated roofs are considered pollution generating. Recent studies by Ecology stated that zinc roofs do leach zinc, but is under the State toxicology thresholds. Furthermore, the horizontal distance to the well and vertical distance to the groundwater provide sufficient pollution removal qualities such as overland topsoil for surface runoff, and expected soil cation exchange capacities exceeding 10 meq/100 g for subsurface infiltration. I want to make sure we all have the same and correct information before proceeding. There are 3 wells shown on this attached site plan. Two of the welts don't meet the 100ft well setbacks which I presume to be Totten Estates 1 &2 (Group B wells). There is a third well there. Is that Bay East (Group A well)that meets the 100ft setback? Secondly, your letter you wrote states the garage will only encroach 10ft into both wells' protection zones, however, this attached site plan shows a nearly 20ft encroachment. Is that ok?Would you be able to update your letter?Would you then need a 25ft variance to allow a 5ft setback? The site plan you attached to this email has not been updated. I asked for the sewage transport line leaving the garage and going to the tanks to be shown on site plan. The tank you did show also doesn't appear to meet 5ft setback to house. There are also two separate tanks. This was in my deficiency letter dated 4/1/26.
