July 22, 2026-9:00 a.m.
Meeting was held hybrid—in-person and via Zoom. Attendance: Cami Olson,Deidre Peterson,Duane
Wilson, Elizabeth Arbaugh,Jennifer Beierle,Kerry London Myers,McKenzie Smith,Pat Tarzwell,
Rachel Hanson,and Taylor Jacobs.
1. Meeting was called to order.
2. Election of a Vice-Chair
Taylor nominated Rachel for Vice-Chair. Motion carried.
3. Approval of April 22,2026, and May 28,2026,Meeting Minutes
Deidre/Rachel moved and seconded to approve the April 22,2026,and May 28,2026,meeting
minutes with the amendment to form the May 28,2026,meeting minutes to Roberts Rules to
ensure clarity that no decision was made. Motion carried.
4. Invoice Requirements
Pat shared the County's requirement for invoices.
5. North Star/Mission Statement
Rachel suggested"increase year-round overnight visitation and visitor spending while preserving
Mason County's rural character and natural assets"as the North Star/mission statement. Further
ideas will be discussed at the next meeting.
6. Continuation of Discussion of Services to Contract for(Request for Proposals)
Discussion was held around the review of contract payment structures,the development of
contracts, and scopes of work for Lodging Tax Advisory Committee (LTAC)review prior to
approval by the Board of County Commissioners.
Taylor/Rachel moved and seconded to have all signed contracts sent to LTAC members and to
amend contracts. Motion carried.
Additional discussion focused on aligning Requests for Proposals (RFPs), contracts, scopes of
work, and key performance indicators(KPIs).Also discussed was expanding and improving the
LTAC webpage to include relevant RCWs, guiding principles/"North Star" information, and other
resources. Further discussion included separating Cultural Attractions from the Tourism Support
RFP.
7. Discussion of Baseline Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Baselines were discussed.
8. Other Business
Deidre requested a presentation from the Municipal Research and Services Center(MRSC)
around lodging tax.

The next meeting is August 19,2026, at 9:00 a.m.
