Members in attendance: Chair Sharon Trask,Rachel Hanson,Duane Wilson, Deidre Peterson,Elizabeth Arbaugh,John DeLeva,Taylor Jacobs,Kerry London Myers,McKenzie Smith,Jennifer Beierle,Tanessa Noll,Kathy Chausse,and Christopher Pinkston 1. Chair Trask called the meeting to order. 2. Approval of the July 16,2025,Meeting Minutes Rachel/Duane moved and seconded to approve the July 16,2025,meeting minutes. Motion carried. 3. Review of RFP Packets Duane cautioned that when requesting a budget,both revenue and expense should be provided for full transparency. Deidre shared her thought that budget information was what the cost to run the program(s)would be,the Request for Proposals(RFP) should be specific. The rubric did not fully match the RFP. Cmmr. Trask suggested that additional work be done on the next RFP. Rachel added the scoring sheet should be created at the same time as the RFP and was upset that the Paul and Babe statues were not included. John asked that for the next RFP,responders be invited to present. Taylor suggested adding in the ability to revise the scope-of-work in case something is missing or comes up. Services that Support Tourism and/or Cultural Attractions Total budget is up to $285,929. Mason County Historical Society—$25,000 General consensus was of full support and funding. JayRay—$106,587 Concerns included paper printing not being included and the RFP not being read fully. It was recommended not to fund. JETORCA-$20,000 Concerns included using stock photos,passports being more of a draw for County residents. Rachel liked the documentary-style videos. It was recommended not to fund. Lance Milbrand—$274,488 There was general confusion and concern that this was not a"big enough package". John added the trip season was a great suggestion. It was recommended not to fund. Shelton-Mason County Chamber of Commerce for Caboose—$26,175.17 Sharon requested that capital improvements be separate in the future and asked that the Chamber LTAC: October 15,2025 1 Page 1 of 3 work with the County's grant writer to see if the caboose qualifies for any grants.Taylor shared concerns with repairs being funded by LTAC but wants the caboose to look"polished". Deidre shared the Chamber has previously paid for new floors and plumbing, light fixtures, and paint. Rachel added that doors were donated. Consensus was of support and funding. Shelton-Mason County Chamber of Commerce for Hoodsport—$159,484.87 Deidre shared there would be staffing seven days a week, and John suggested that staffing hours be reallocated between off season and peak season. Consensus was of support and funding. North Mason Chamber of Commerce—$55,000 Kerry discussed the Visitor Information Center(VIC)and potential relocation and alignment of the McReavy House with the Chamber. Deidre suggested removing the website,pumpkin catapult, events, and printing. Taylor suggested the water wheel being supported as a cultural attraction, separate from the VIC. Consensus was of support and funding. Northwest Event Organizers (NEO) for park signage—$36,000 Sharon felt this would be a county parks project. It was recommended not to fund. Director of Tourism Development Total budget up to $686,229. Northwest Event Organizers (NEO)-$686,000 Rachel discussed expansion of services that connect individuals, encourage revenue generation, and a concierge location that could hold multiple businesses—a hub. Concerns were shared around LTAC funding being utilized and optics. Consensus was of support and funding. ZOAGENCY—$686,229 Rachel shared concerns around the WildSide app not being managed and no print services. Deidre added there was no information around how the agency would spend 40 hours per week in Mason County. It was recommended not to fund. 4. Other Business No other business. 5.
