System shall be installed per NFPA 13, Owner shall maintain adequate temperature of a minimum of 40 degrees where the Wet/Dry Sprinkler Riser is to be located and any other areas of this project possibly exposed to freezing conditions as noted on the plans. Underground Piping: 1. Underground piping,from the water supply to the system riser,and lead-in connections to the system riser shall be completely flushed before connection is made to the downstream fire protection system piping. 10.10.2 2.The Installing contractor shall be responsible for notifying the AHJ and the owners representative of the time and date of the testing. All testing,inspections,and cover must be witnessed the the AHJ. The contractor is responsible for preforming the required tests. 3.The contractor shall,at time of inspection,furnish completed NPFA 13 documentation or equivalent. Examples are provided in NFPA 13 10.10.1 4,All conditions of the permit must be followed. 5,FDC and PIV Shall be located by the local responding agency and submitted for approval. Permit required, 6.FDC to be outfitted with(1)4'Storz adapter. Above Ground Piping: 1.WET&DRY PIPE SPRINKLER SYSTEMS:Hydrostatic testing shall be for a period of 2 hours at 200 psi or 50 psi in excess of the system working pressure,whichever Is greater,and shall maintain that pressure at plus 5 psi for 2 hours.As per NFPA 13-10.10.2.2 2.Hydrostatic testing of the FDC shall be required at 200 psi for 2 hours.Check valve shall be required to be turned around. If weather does not allow for Hydrostatic testa pneumatic test would be allowed.(Air) 3.Once hydrostatic tests are completed and signed off a general flow test will be conducted on a different date. All electronic monitoring devices must be installed and operational. All backflow devices,valves,sprinkler heads,slgnage,and system components must be present and operational at time of the test. General Sprinkler System: 1, Clearance for Earthquake protection where the riser penetrates a cement floor or hard ceiling surface:Where clearance is provided by a pipe sleeve,a nominal diameter 2 inch larger than the nominal diameter of the pipe shall be acceptable for pipe sizes ranging from 1 Inch to 314 inches.For pipes greater than this size It shall comply with that noted In section 9,3.4.3 of the 2010 NFPA 13.CLEARANCES FOR THE WET RISERS SHALL 5E4 INCHES AND FOR THE DRY RISER 2 INCHES. 2.Uprights sprigs and an extended Armover length greater than 24 inches or In excess of 100 psi shall be of the type to prevent upward oxcess movement of the pipe. 3.End of long branch lines or unsupported length between the last hanger and the end of the sprinkler shall be supported as In accordance with section 9.2.3.4 of NFPA 13 2010 Ediilionl2. 4.Fire flow shall meet that as noted at the base of the riser and as noted on the plan.
