Sally&Keri:
On May 2nd of this year,you called me out to inspect and evaluate your
single-family residence septic system which is located on the tax parcel
number shown above and is a second residence.
After receiving the historic septic system data from Mason County Health
Department and with a copy of the Bamford septic repair pumper report I
walked the site with you.
Some of the system had been exposed for review,first thing I noticed was the
manifold pipe had been crushed and it had filled with solids exiting the septic
tank. The end of the first lateral had been exposed and the drainrock was clean
and dry, although the pumpers report stated compacted soils with roots and
dirt in black drainrock. I did not witness any of that.The drainfield is in a yard
area with scattered fruit trees.
I recommended that you remove and replace the crushed pipe and clean out
any additional solids that you could.As such,you have since contacted me
and this has been completed.I also recommend that you install an effluent
• filter in the outlet baffle of the septic tank. Please contact me when this is
• completed.
In conclusion I don't see the need for a redesign and installation of a new
system. We will need periodic inspection in the near future to ensure the
system is working properly. /�
