This decision is based on our finding that:
The hearing was held on 4/30/2026.
Stacy & Julie McKean, Appellant, were not present at the hearing. Caleb Cowles, Appraiser, and
Assessor Patti McLean were present.
The Appellants petition stated, the comps I see that are somewhat close to our situation are reflective of
numbers from 2-3 years ago when there was an overpriced bubble in the market that is no longer applicable
to the current market. We purchased our home in 2019 for $875,000 I strongly disagree with the idea that
the assessed value has doubled in 6 years.
The Assessor corrected the value because it could not be supported; therefore, the Assessor issued an
Assessors Notice of Change of Value.
The Board found no clear, cogent, or convincing evidence that the Assessor was in error.
Therefore, the Board sustains the value for the land at $245,745 and improvements at $ 946,360 for a total
of $1,192,105 for the subject parcel.
