Box 1008 Hoodsport, WA 98548 Subject: ENGINEERING LETTER REGARDING the REBAR PLACEMENT FOR THE NEW EAST BULKHEAD as well as PLACEMENT OF THE REBAR IN THE RAISED 2' SECTION OF THE NORTH,I.E.,THE WATER SIDE BULKHEAD at 11831 E SR-106,Union,WA 98592 This engineer has verified that double #5 vertical rebar has been placed within the new east bulkhead wall as can be seen in photograph#1 on Sheet 1.0 per the approved engineering drawing dated April 10, 2023. The #5 vertical rebar has also been spaced 2.0' on-center as called out in the drawing. Also, an invoice has been attached that shows that thirteen 20-foot lengths of#5 rebar was sent to Integrated NW Construction on April 20,2023 that was used in the construction of the Jason Hill's new east bulkhead retaining wall. Also,this engineer has attached photos of the epoxied rebar for the 2' raised section of wall on the Hood Canal side of the property as indicated in photographs #2 through#5. An air compressor was used to blow out the concrete powder from the all the drilled-out holes at their proper depth and then a bottle brush was then used to further clean out the holes. Rebar can be seen in Photo #5 and the final 2' raised retaining wall can be seen in Photos#6 and#7. It is the conclusion of this engineer that the construction of both the east bulkhead as well as the north 2' x 104' raised retaining walls were constructed properly to match the existing concrete retaining wall. If an inspection is requested and the approved site plan is not on site, approval will not be granted.
