A Nuwater BNR500 septic tank was installed in October 2025 meeting the required 10 foot setbacks from both property and the PUD #1 service area water line. After the Nuwater septic tank was installed the property owner asked the PUD to remove and relocate the existing water meter. In November 2025, the PUD indicated that the septic drain field was not 10 feet away from the service area water line. Therefore, in January 2026 the service area water line was relocated to the west side of the Canal Beach Tracts access road. The waterline relocation is now 12 to 15 feet distant from the septic drain field. Because the Nuwater tank had been set, it was deemed too difficult to move 2.5 feet to the west which would have complied with the 5 foot foundation setback rule. The location of the septic tank does not meet the required 5 foot setback from the 18" concrete footing of the home. Preliminary foundation layout found that a 2.5 X 15 foot variance is needed on the northwest corner of the footing and stem wall. The buildings foot print cannot be moved to the east due to a 35 foot setback for an approved Common Line Mitigation Plan. Building Plans and Common Line Mitigation Plan Review were approved by Mason County Community Services on October 10, 2025 RBM IS GROUND EL.@ PROPERTY CORNER(RBM=100.0) ABANDONED SEPTIC TANK(PER CODE) NOTES: EXISTING NUWATER BNR500 ATU TANK(IN.EL.-98.5/OUT.EL.-98.2)-TANK,RINGS,RISERS AND LIDS MUST BE H20 TRAFFIC RATED /+^ j 70' 1 -NO WELLS WITHIN 100'OF DRAINFIELD p C3POSED R PA s_ _ eI _ FWATERLINE(MAINTAIN 10FTTO SEPTIC COMPONENTS) -RISERS TO SURFACE REQUIRED OVER ALL TANK LIDS Q0Q( I I ❑I -TANKTOBEONSTATEAPPROVED LIST N W o TANK HAS WATERPROOF SURFACE BARRIER INSTALLED BY MANUFACTURER v N 20 TANK TO BE LEAK TESTED INTO THE RISER FOR 24 HOURS AFTER INSTALLATION.
