Appointing Contracting Officer for the JailSOLUTION NO. 45-82 Whereas, the Board of Mason County Commissioners has accepted Washington State Jail Commission funding for the purpose of constructing a new Mason County jail, and Whereas, the Board of Mason County Commissioners has awarded the contract for construction of said jail to Jones and Roberts Company, General Contractors, Shelton, Washington; and Now Therefore Be It Resolved, that the Board of Mason County Commissioners does hereby appoint Ed Piland of the Mason County Building Department to be the Commissioners' Contracting Officer for this project; and Be It Further Resolved, that the Board of Mason County Commissioners, in appointing Ed Piland as the Contracting Officer for this project, does hereby authorize him to approve work actions for this contract in amounts not to exceed $50,000.00 without requesting Commission approval; and Be It Further Resolved, that the Board of Mason County Commissioners does hereby name Ken Stevens to serve as Contracting Officer in the absence of Ed Piland with the same responsibilities as those delegated to Ed Piland; and Be It Further Resolved, that the above named persons shall appear in the official project contract as Contracting Officers for this project as defined in this resolution; and Be It Further Resolved, that any work necessitating signature approval of the project architect shall also require signature approval by the Commission's Contracting Officer.
