AMENDMENT NO. I
TO THE SERVICE AGREEMENT BETWEEN MASON COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC
WORKS AND MASON COUNTY GARBAGE CO., INC. FOR
SOLID WASTE DROP BOX MAULING AND REGIONAL RECYCLING DROP STATION
PROGRAM
The SERVICE AGREEMENT between MASON COUNTY and MASON COUNTY GARBAGE &
RECYCLING is amended as follows:
1. The contract expiration date of April 1, 2026, is extended by five (5) years, to April 1,2031,
with an option for two (2) additional automatic five-year renewal terms, subject to mutual
written agreement by both parties prior to each expiration term.
2. Adding Attachment A - Proposed Rates, effective April I, 2026, with annual rate adjustments
based on 100% of the January -to -January CPI-U for the Seattle -Tacoma -Bellevue, WA area
(Series ID: CUURS49DSA0).
3. All other terms, conditions, and fee schedules of the original contract remain unchanged and in
full effect.

RE: Notice of rates for proposed new contract related to hauling of transfer station solid waste and
recycling containers.
Dear County Officials,
Mason County Garbage & Recycling (MCGR) is proud to continue our partnership with Mason County in
providing safe, reliable, and efficient hauling services. Our commitment to maintaining a clean and
sustainable environment remains at the forefront of our operations, and we appreciate the trust placed
in us to serve the community.
Included below are the proposed rates to begin recurring hauling of all transfer station solid waste and
recycle containers effective April 15t, 2026. These rates would be subject to an annual rate adjustment
on April 15t each subsequent year. The rate adjustment will be calculated at 100% of the January to
January Consumer Price Index-U (CPI-U), for all Urban Consumers as calculated by the US department of
Labor for the Olympia, WA area.
To supportthis increased service level, MCGR proposes renewing the current contract for a 5-year term,
extending through April 15i, 2031, with an option for (2) automatic renewal of an additional 5 years.
While this proposal follows the timeline of the existing contract, MCGR is open to negotiating an earlier
effective date.
