Item: Pre-Budget Utility Rate Workshop #2
Background/Executive Summary:
Staff presented water and sewer utility rate information to Commissioners on May 10, 2025, in
preparation for 2026 budget submittals. The work session was to familiarize Commissioners
with the approach to rate setting and development of various scenarios to meet financial goals
and “tests”.
The purpose for this workshop is to answer questions and gather initial Commissioner thoughts
and direction regarding water and sewer utility rates.
Budget Impact:
Not known at this time.
Public Outreach:
None at this time. Staff anticipates meeting with communities served by Mason County utilities
to discuss any proposed rate changes prior to budget hearing and adoption.
Requested Action:
Request Commissioners review rate scenarios and recommendations and identify any questions
or additional scenarios you may wish to see.
