The 345-foot long concrete seawall along the northwest edge of the two Puget Sound facing properties showed signs of soil being washed away from behind the wall. The Homeowner wanted the soil behind the wall and the seawall itself to be stabilized. I had specified the use of an injectable two-part resin to be installed behind the wall which bonds the soil into an unerodable matrix. In addition to this resin, a series of one- way drainage filters were installed at roughly 5 foot intervals near the center of the mostly 5-foot tall wall. The filters were installed in holes drilled through the wall which allow hydrostatic pressure behind the wall to drain into the nearby Puget Sound. I have reviewed the material logs and the final condition of the wall and conclude that the installation of fifty-eight Jet Filters and the injectable resin has been installed per my recommendations and in compliance with the installation guideline for the resin compound.
