CONCRETE
It is beyond the scope of this manual to give adequate instructions on all aspects of pouring and
finishing a concrete slab. If you choose to pour and finish the slab yourself we urge you to obtain
professional guidance. This is not a project on which to become self-taught.
FOUNDATION DETAILS are found on Sheet C_'. The information presented on this sheet should be
followed to the letter, all details satisfied.
The concrete should cure for a minimum of 5-7 days, depending on climate conditions, prior to
erection of the building. Curing in cool or wet weather requires more time.
Always verify all form measurements prior to pourmLy.
We urge you or your contractor to call us with any questions you may have regarding the foundation or
placement of anchor bolts.

Monolithic Slab Foundation
Virtually all foundations for WEB STEEL Buildings are monolithic slabs. The information shown in
this section is geared toward that likelihood.
Accurate anchor bolt placement is critical for proper placement of the structural steel and to ensure a
plumb and square building.
Thesans will not tit correctly if the legs are either too close together or too far apart. Take the time to
P Y .. ., P
make certain the dimensions are exact rather than discover the problem when two heavy spans are
waving overhead.
Remember that all dimensions are measured from the inside of the forms.
Corner to corner(diagonal) measurements must be equal in order to assure the foundation slab is
perfectly square.
Verifv all form dimensions prior to pouring concrete.
MEASUREMENTS
MUST BE EQUAL
Anchor Bolt Placement
To accurately place anchor bolts templates must be used. The templates should be made out of 3/4"
plywood to hold each anchor bolt securely in the vertical position.
Dimensions for making templates will be found on sheets l and Cl.
The FOUNDATION PLAN (sheet 1) has a square box located near each anchor bolt location.
In the box there is a number above the line and a letter and number below the line. These are the sheet
number and detail number where the dimensions and orientation of that particular anchor bolt will be
found.
The dimensions for a frame base is 1/CI and is located on sheet Cl, detail 1.
The detailed dimension for an end column is ?/C 1 and is located on the same sheet number, detail `?.
The corner columns are also on the same sheet, detail(s) 3 and/or 4, depending on the type of material
(angle or tube) from which the column is manufactured.
Additional details will be included when sheds or other attachments are designed for a building.
