The site was posted with a Correction Notice on March 26, 1997, regarding the deterioration of the stairway access and the deck. A follow up investigation on January 11, 1999 indicated that the condition of the deck and the stairs has not been addressed and has worsened. Adequate means of ingress and egress is required from structures per the Uniform Building Code . The Uniform Code for the Abatement of DangerouQ Buildings outlines that if a structure is not deemed to have adequate access, the entire structure may be declared a dangerous building. Our intention at this time is to inform you that the ingress and egress does not meet code and a permit needs to be applied for to either replace or repair the stairs and the deck prior to further occupancy for your safety. In the event that a permit is not applied for as requested, further enforcement action will ensue . Please contact me PRIOR APRIL 12 , 1999 with your intentions and method to obtain compliance .
