This decision is based on our finding that:
The hearing was held on Tuesday, March 18, 2025.
Chris Burke, Appellant, was present at the hearing. IdaMae Jensen, Assessor’s Representative and Assessor
Patti McLean were present.
The Appellant is appealing the value on his 4.8-acre property located on East Jensen Road, Shelton, WA for
both the land and the buildings/improvements. He stated on his petition that the subject property is severely
overvalued in its current condition. He submitted as evidence an appraisal by Homestead Funding Corp.
dated 9/10/2021, in the amount of $550,000 as evidence to support his estimate of value. Due to an
administrative error, the Appellant did not receive the offered Assessment Roll Correction (ARC).
The Assessor recognized a reduction was warranted on the buildings/improvements, based on her
comparable analysis chart. She recommended reducing the value of the home from $648,825 to $575,760.
The land value remains the same at $90,380.
The Board accepted this ARC.
Therefore, the Board sustains the value for the land at $90,380 and sets the new value for
buildings/improvements at $575,760 for a total of $666,140.
