BOE True and Fair Value Determination Land $ 519,650 Land $ 519,650 Improvements $ 69,260 Improvements $ 69,260 Minerals $ Minerals $ Personal Property $ Personal Property $ Total Value $ 588,910 Total Value $ 588,910 This decision is based on our finding that: The hearing was held on Tuesday, February 25, 2025. Cassie , Assessor Patti McLean were present. The Appellant is appealing the value of a 27-acre parcel in North Mason County that serves as a non-profit youth camp. She states the reason for the appeal is that the property was deeded to her non-profit by Rayonier Forrest Products and Land Management Company to be used for youth development. She states she does not have the authority to sell, develop, or harvest timber from the property. The Appellant further e. She believes that this property should have an exempt status and therefore given a lower assessment value. The Assessor stated she reached out to the taxpayer both by phone and email to explain the process of how to apply for the non-profit tax exemption through the Department of Revenue on Tuesday January 21, 2025. Attached to the email was the application with the directions included. Currently the Assessor has not heard back from the Appellant to explain that a non-profit is not an automatic exemption. The Board found no clear, cogent, or convincing evidence that the Assessor was in error. Therefore, the Board sustains the value for the land at $519,640 and improvements at $ 69,260 for a total of $588,900 for the subject parcel.
