Dear 5rian;
Per your request, I have reviewed comments from Kim Schaumburg and revised the
Proposed Planting Plan for the marina accordingly.There are a few changes from her
recommendations I made in consideration of the site conditions and which native
plants are best adapted to this environment.
Trees proposed for use on the site are Quaking Aspen (P.tremuloides). 7-10
installed along the fence line; and Alaska Yellow Cedar(C. nootkatensis,var.
pendula) total of 7 along site periphery and in central landscaped section. Total of
14-17 trees; minimum required — 12.Trees will 6e 15 — 25 gallon container stock, or
5&F), depending on availa6ility and budget.
Native shrubs proposed for use are: Red Flowering Currant(R. sanguineum),Vine
Maple (A. circinatum),and Dwarf Shore Pine F contorta var. contorta, "5paan's
DwarO.T,ese species are well adapted to sea level elevation and open, shore line
conditions.They will provide visual interest and habitat value.5ee the plan for
placement.A total of 29 shrubs are proposed.Shrubs will be 5 gallon container
stocL.
am advising against installation of Dwarf Oregon Grape,Sword tern, Wild
Azalea,and 5alal because these plants are best suited to a forested environment.
They are unliLely to thrive on this site and plant mortality may 6e high over the first

have compiled the following list of grasses, perennials, and groundcovers to complete
the native" plant selection for this protect. (** In the grass category, Ms.

availability and suitability to the site, and are not necessarily native to the area.)

Plants selected from this category will be used around the large boulders and to fill in
around the shrubs and trees.See the plan for placement.At least three species will
be used,and at least 50 will be installed. Plants will be gallon size container stock
except as noted otherwise.
Additional non-native, non-invasive, but well adapted cultivars may be used to
increase visual interest. Non-native cultivars shall not exceed 20%of the overall plant
population within the new landscaping.Additional plants may include:
Perennial Fountain Grass (Pennisetum alopecuroides, "Hameln")
Anise Hyssop (Agastache foeniculum t)Iue Fortune")
Autumn heather(Calluna vulgaris"H.E. F)eale" or"Spring Torch")
Winter Heather(E_rica spp.)
I believe this Plan meets and exceeds the minimum requirements as stipulated.The
plants identified herein will establish nicely on this site,with minimal water and fertilizer
