1993 meeting with Scott Horner, our architect, and Jason

REPORT ISSUES) :
1. Scott discussed existing site conditions, e.g. runoff creek and steep topography and their Impact.
Jason's interpretation, without referencing maps at the county planning dept.,was that the creek
was created by runoff from the artesian well(s) and we would need to identify 9 the stream had a
Type Classifications. In review of the resource maps at theCountyPlanning Department, after
leaving the site, Jason interpretation was that the creek had no Type Classification and likewise
was notconsidered to have Impacts from the County Interim Resource Ordinance,
In reference to the steep topography and the impacts applied by the Interim Resource
Management Ordinance for Landslide Areas,the site did not show up as impacted slide areas on
the maps.
Jason did request that the architectural design and planning address the natural conditions of the
site in a sensitive manner. Scott had presented the preliminary Concept of limiting theimpact of
the building footprint by the use of four or six structural concrete columns and letting the
residence float over the natural grade below. In addition Scott presented to Jason the Owner
and Architect's environmental intent of reclaiming any damage to the site during construction.
2. Jason was concerned with the potable water source for the residence and pointed out that a well
may need to be drilled to obtain a building permit. Scott suggests that the costs for drilling a well
be included in the Project Budget, but does not need to be a design issue until we hear differently
from the County. Scott will locate a possbile well placement on the site plan, during the initial
planning , to assure that we do not impact the site design later.
3, Scott and Jason observed a new water-holding system located on the east propoerty line, up
on the hillside,that was not observed on earlier site visits. The system is producing heavy
runoff that could cause some serious erosion to the hillside on the B&K site. In addition the
location of the water-holding system is not aesthetically pleasing since it will probably be viewed
from the Master Bedroom and other windows on the southeast corner of the residence.
