Hello Rhonda,
Appreciate speaking with you for clarification on Jim Robbin's project in Belfair.As we discussed by
phone,according to our data plot's soil test pit(WA-TP1)conditions within the very small portion of the
wetland on the property were found to be saturated at 5 inches below the surface and the source of that
most likely from sub-surface unidirectional drainage from the surrounding upland slopes(not
necessarilythe wetland to the east).Awater table was encountered at 11 inches below the surface
within that test pit but given that it was the early growing season and the end of winter(on March 15), if
surface flooding does occur there it should have been present.We did observe surface water during that
site visit but that was off-site farther to the east and either at orjust beyond the 520-foot contour line on
our delineation maps(Figures 5 and 6).
In my professional opinion there is 50-feet or more between Mr. Robbins septic tanks and any surface
flooding that occurs within the wetland to the east.
