Removal will consist of the use of an excavator and/or crane. Site A will involve the use of an excavator to remove the four stringers, abutments and culvert. Site B will use an excavator and/or crane to remove the bridge, abutments and steel sheeting. All work will be accomplished during low flow time of year (Aug 1-September 1). All materials removed will be taken out of the floodplain. Possible use of temporary in stream mid-span supports for bridge removal at site B maybe necessary. Temporary support shall be constructed of untreated wood. The project will require walking an excavator into the channel migration zone of the river channel. This activity will be minimized. Both locations have a gravel bar in the channel migration zone of the river that will be utilized to move the structures. Equipment will be cleaned before entering the flood plain area. The culvert at site A will also be removed. The side channel of the river will be reestablished. All exposed soils will have erosion control applied. 6f.
