Thank you for your quick response.
The parcel number of the property is#322353100080, owners are John and
Karen York.
Their deck which they are at this moment rebuilding (without a permit)on
the water....I mean right now....is next to my bulkheaded property with my
home.
I'm not sure of the girls name who answered the phone at the permit desk but
what she said was that no one could get out here to look at what's going on
for 2 weeks. The building is going on right now...now would be the best
time for someone to be able to come check on it. Not after the fact.
When my husband was alive still we watched these same neighbors build a
fence...connecting their deck to our fence....over our rental home beach
access. I called then also...2003 and was told they shouldn't put the fence
up on our property but that you couldn't tell them to take it down. We told
these people that they were putting the fence up across our property and
they told us "so what, we're taking the property between us."
Now since it's been there for 4 years they consider it theirs and when
tell them that I want beach access they told me that they'd have me arrested
for trespassing and a class C felony(whatever that is) if I remove the
fence or put a gate in it. I can't afford to hire a lawyer and surveyor to
get back what is mine...and that access to the beach makes my rental
property more valuable and an asset when dealing with renters.
I'm a widow, live on the water, pay taxes (lots of them)have a rental home
across the highway that I also pay taxes on (lots of them)and would like to
see some justice done concerning these people. I've called you on a couple
issues now and have gotten little to no help. When we built this home in
2005 (after a 4 year battle to get our permit)we did everything by the
book...bought permits...septic system that puts Alderbrooks to
shame...lawyers and habitat management plans, etc...this wasn't cheap. But
we did things as you asked them to be done. We doesn't the same apply back?
Why can't I expect my local governement departments to do their job and help
me out?
The York's are strange characters, but that's not my problem...my problem is
with them doing whatever they want with total disregard to the rules that
the rest of us are living by. � ONa- O/V(
They don't have a septic system for their cabin up on the hill (opposite
side of the highway from the deck on the water)yet live there during the 5i t Z f�
summer months and are there quite a few weekends throughout the year.
The deck that they're rebuilding, as I type this, should have fallen down -7s , /Z5-/
years ago...it's propped up on one side with more old planks. It is a
complete eyesore and a shame to this beautiful area of Hood Canal.
