Road Approach Permit
6i Nc.: M88-243
Application v
Dear Mr. Casteel:
We have received your request for a permit to construct a Type "D"
commercial road approach to serve your property at the above-referenced
location.
We are prepared to grant a road approach permit for your proposed
development following a joint review with Mason County. When plans for a
development such as yours are submitted to Mason County, we are sent a
copy of the plans along with a request for our comments on factors such as
road approaches and drainage concerns which may affect the State's
transportation system. At that time, we provide them with our
recommendations and requirements for the specific project.
When a development review for your proposal has been completed through
the County, we will proceed with your request for a road approach permit.
We will hold your application in abeyance until you have submitted your
plans to the County and the joint review has been accomplished.
If there are any questions, please contact Pete Lorenzo at 753-1901.
Sincerely,

Dear Ms. Miller:
We have received your request for review of the above proposal and offer the
following comments:
The location of the existing access shown on the submittal is acceptable
to the Department provided that the access is accurately depicted on
the plan and will be the only access to the State highway system. The
Department requests that some form of barrier such as landscaping or
fencing be placed on the property line to ensure that traffic utilizes
only the approved approach for access. Road Approach Application No.
M88-243 is currently in process.
Surface water runoff directed to the State highway right--of-way must not
exceed pre-development runoff.
The Department will not be responsible for noise attenuation if the subject
property experiences noise levels in excess of the maximum allowed for the
proposed land use.
Advertising signs visible from an adjacent State highway must comply with
the State Scenic Vistas Act of 1971, which is administered by the
Department. For information regarding the signing regulations, contact
the District 3 Traffic Operations office at 753-7221.
Thank you for the opportunity to review the proposal. If there are any
questions regarding our comments, please contact Pete Lorenzo at 753-1901.
