PERMIT TO CLOSE UNDERGROUND
STORAGE TANK SYSTEM FOR HAZARDOUS SUBSTANCE
PERMIT FIR 2025-00 6
Pursuant to Section 105.6.8 of the International Fire Code, a Permit to Close an Underground
Storage Tank(s) System for Hazardous Substance In Place is hereby issued to the facility
described below, subject to compliance with the terms and conditions herein.
Permittee: Alderbrook Resort Contractor: Ferrellgas, Matt Sayers

Facility: Alderbrook Resort, 10 Beach Dr Union WA. 98592
Tank Description: 18,000 gallon propane tank
Conditions:
1) Any ignition sources within 35' of any tank openings shall be isolated or made inoperable prior to
purging/closure operations.
2) As much LP-Gas as practical shall be removed from the tank through the vapor piping or other
tank openings.
3) Vapor shall be either recovered, burned, or vented to the atmosphere.
4) Any fill lines, drop tubes, vent and product lines shall be removed from the tank.
5) Once only vapor LG-Gas at atmospheric pressure remains in the tank, it shall be filled with sand,
concrete slurry, dirt and sand, foamed plastic or other inert material approved by this office.
6) Once the tank has been completely filled, any tank openings shall be secured and any
excavations to said openings shall be backfilled to grade and compacted to the same density as
surrounding soils.
7) All closure activities identified above shall be witnessed by a member of this office. A minimum 48
hours' notice (business days) are required prior to inspection.
