Re: Site investigation
Dear Mr. Mrkvicka;
On November 7, 1994, I performed an erosion investigation on
property located at E. 156 Lighthouse Road per your request. The
findings of the site inspection is in fact, a great concern. It is
essential that a solution is developed to prevent the existing
condition which is causing the catch basin to back up and over
flow.
During the site inspection, I could identify two potential causes.
Perhaps the catch basin is not properly sized for the maximum
gallons per minute that could potentially flow from the exposed
pipe to the basin. Another thought is that perhaps the drain pipe
from the basin extending through the bulkhead is submerged under
water during high tide which is filling up the discharge pipe
preventing the water from the catch basin to flow due to hydraulic
pressure created in the pipe.
Mr. Mrkvicka, I suggest that you contact either a Licensed Engineer
or a highly skilled Contractor in this field visit the site to
propose a solution/s to this situation. ; f haul 4InA.w,
