Any areas disturbed should be restored to prevent erosion and other environmental impacts. 3) Debris or deleterious material resulting from construction shall be removed from the beach area and project site and shall not be allowed to enter waters of the State. 4) Floatation for the structure shall be entirely enclosed and contained to permanently prevent the breakup or loss of the floatation material into the water. 5) Water quality is not to be degraded to the detriment of the aquatic environment as a result of this project. CEDAR S T. The State Environmental Policy Act(SEPA),chapter 43.21C RCW,requires all governmental agencies to consider the environmental impacts of a proposal before making decisions. An environmental impact statement(EIS)must be prepared for all proposals with probable significant adverse impacts on the quality of the environment. The purpose of this checklist is to provide information to help you and the agency identify impacts from your proposal (and to reduce or avoid impacts from the proposal,if it can be done)and to help the agency decide whether an EIS is required. Instructions for applicants: This environmental checklist asks you to describe some basic information about your proposal. Governmental agencies use this checklist to determine whether the environmental impacts of your proposal are significant, requiring preparation of an EIS. There will be a total of 11 floats replaced: three 8' by 14', seven 6' by 20' and one 6' by 7.5'. All of the replacement floats will have 2' or 4' wide grating strips centrally located. Four float footers will support each float. Seven 10" to 12" diameter creosote treated pilings will be replaced with nine 10" diameter galvanized steel pilings.A drop hammer pile driver mounted on a barge will be used to drive piles. A six-inch thick block of wood will be used between hammer and pilings to attenuate noise(See B.E.). 12. Location of the proposal. A total of 11 floats will be replaced: three 8" by 14", seven 6' by 20" and one 6' by 7.5". All of the replacement floats will have either 2" or 4" wide grating strips centrally located. Four float footers will support each float. The replacement float structure will be within the same footprint as the previous structure. Seven 10" to 12" diameter creosote treated pilings will be removed and replaced with nine 10" diameter galvanized steel pilings. A drop hammer pile will be used to drive the new piles. A six-inch block of wood will be used between hammer and pilings to attenuate noise. Construction waterward of MHHW is proposed to take place over three days between July 16 and February 15 of any given year to avoid impacts to migrating salmonids and bull trout.
