The Checklist is intended to identify the locations within the plan that addresses the minimum requirements Mason County will not perform a technical evaluation of the submittal. Rather, the checklist provides a guide to allow Mason County to review the submittal and determine if the applicant has addressed the minimum features that make up a Stormwater plan. It is incumbent upon the applicant and his/her engineer to fulfill all the applicable requirements of the 2005 Stormwater Plan as it relates to the proposed project.Review by Mason County is intended to determine if the plan has addressed the minimum requirements. Applicant's engineer shall be responsible for the technical accuracy of the submitted Stormwater plan. During construction of the project,the stormwater plan engineer of record or his/her authorized representative shall inspect the site to ensure the stormwater plan is being implemented as designed. Upon completion of the project, the engineer or his authorized representative shall be required to certify that the stormwater plan has been implemented as designed. Port Orchard, WA 98367 Phone: 360-876-0500 File: 141346 SWPPP Narrative The subject site is a 5+/- acre parcel of land, located in rural Mason County, Washington, on the Tahuya Peninsula, in a community know as"Toonerville". This site has been previously developed for a single family residential complex consisting of cleared and graded areas, a residence, and a large detached garage. The existing access driveway from Toonerville Road to the home site is approximately 600 feet long. The cleared and graded are, parking area, and structures areas comprises approximately 1.6 acres. The new green house structures will be established within the already developed graded area. The storm water runoff patterns have already been established and appear to be well controlled by the extensive natural forested areas being preserved in strategic areas. This natural vegetation effectively removes the silt from su-face runoff waters. There should be minimal erosion being caused by the minor grading and construction of the green houses. However, silt fence should be placed in strategic locations to help control erosion/sedimentation hi the runoff' Therefore, the 12 basic elements of a SWPPP are addressed as follows: 1. There are no additional clearing limits required for green house construction. 2. There is no need for a stabilized construction entrance, as the project site is 800 feet +/- away from Toonerville Road. Both driveway and Toonerville are gravel roads. 3. Soils are classified as Alderwood and also Everett Gravelly Sandy Loams. These soils are quite gravelly, and are generally low risk erosion soils. Therefore, excessive erosion is not expected as the existing site is quite stabilized. Flow rates are generally controlled by native vegetation dispersion and existing systems. Adjacent properties will not be affected. 4. It is recommended that silt fencing be installed along the lower portion, adjacent to the driveway,just below the lower green house (see plan sheets). 5. It is recoruiiended to stabilize disturbed soils by straw mulching and seeding areas to grass. 6. Slopes will be seeded to grass and covered with straw mulch. 7. One drain inlet will be protected by silt fencing and 2" —4" quarry spall armoring. 8. Channels are not basically stabilized. Minimal need for additional stabilization. 9. There are no extraneous pollutants with this project.
