I recently observed two dock structures located on the above referenced tax parcel number.
Pursuant to Mason County Shoreline Master Program regulations, I am writing to request that the
dock structure to the left, when looking out toward Mason Lake,be removed. This request is
based on Mason County Shoreline Master Program section 7.16.170,Use Regulations 8 and 16.
A copy of section 7.16.170 is enclosed for your review.
Use Regulation 8 provides that only one dock is allowed per lot. Use Regulation 16 provides that
all facilities shall be constructed and maintained in a safe and sound condition. Abandoned or
unsafe docks and piers shall be removed or repaired promptly by the owner.
Please provide photo documentation of removal by September 12, 2003. Photos can be mailed to
Mason County Planning Department; Attn: Kristin French,PO Box 279, Shelton, WA 98584. If
the requested photos are not received by September 12, 2003, a hearing date will be set. If this
matter proceeds to a hearing,you may be found responsible for costs incurred by the County in
addition to fines imposed. Please contact me at(360)427-9670 ext. 593 if you have questions or
