As part of this department's review of your permit application, a Shoreline Inspection
(SPI) was performed on your property. Below you will find comments made regarding
the proposed development and its critical values.
In some cases, setbacks for development from shorelines, steep slopes, streams, and
wetlands must be included in your specific proposal; these setbacks are included as
part of the comments listed below.
This information is based on County and State regulations as they exist to date. These
regulations may change and may affect the requirements for development of the subject
property.

Comments: A site inspection wqs performed on November 10, 2000 by
planning staff, Shandra O'Haleck to determine regulations
regarding a bathroom addition to an existing cabin. Although this
cabin sits in front of adjacent cabins, the addition will be at the
rear of the house and therefore allowed by common-line setbacks
which are determined by drawing an imaginary line from the
waterward dripline of this residence to the most waterward
dripline of the adjacent residences. Any structure greater than 30
inches above average grade must be behind this line.
Questions concerning septic system requirements may be made
to Mason County Environmental Health specialist, Pam Denton,
at (360)427-9670, extension 554 or Environmental Health
technician, Cindy Waite, at extension 353.
