This was the first time I received accurate, friendly and precise information from Mason County planning regarding my property on the Skokomish River. I bought this property for two reasons. First was to ensure a healthy and safe environment III for my family and neighbors. A series of less than desirable renters has occupied the property. The last tenants were cooking and selling methamphetamines as well as attracting a steady flow of traffic of less than desirable cliental. Second was to provide equipment parking, office and storage space for my company. I have spent thousands of dollars on this property. The third benefit was, this property adjoined current ownership. The clearing, cleaning and methamphetamine testing of this additional 6 acres took two years to accomplish. We removed a total of 48, 10 yard dump trucks of garbage from this site. Lab testing and house cleaning alone cost me $5000 plus hundreds of hours of my time. It is my intention to be a long tem residence of Mason County. I plan on doing this in accordance with rules and guidelines established by county planners. However, I do reserve the right protect m rights gas a U.S citizen P Ythrough a personal a lawyer. I do feel � P �'Y this is a takings issue by Mason Count y. The county needs to be consistent in enforcement of their regulations. Examples of county enforcement are evident through out the Skokomish Valley. RV trailers near our home on Van ce Creek are being used to house level 5 sex offenders. Our neighborhood as sent numerous complaints to coup ty planner regarding this situation, Yet they are moving in more trailers. Old run down trailers are being set up in the lower valley near our community church Meth heads are living in these run down trailers with an assortment of trash, old cars, household garbage and animal waste. There are no permits posted on any of these sites. Methamphetamines are a real threat to our county, perhaps focusing on these types of illegal housing units would help limit the number of user in our county. My neighbor has been renting his pump house out for two years; with no sanitation facilities or adequate housing. Our plans are to move and lift the Beam house. It does not make a lot of sense to spend thou sands of dollars on this structure to have it be distorted by the river. This would not be a benefit to the environment or m pocket book. The Beam structure Y p tore is located less than 10 feet from the Skokomish River and is great danger of being destroyed by the river. If this structure could be moved approximately 50 feet to the next order terrace (approximately 10 feet higher) it could be then lifted to a safer level. This home will then provide office and storage space now utilized my mobile home. I have spoken to State and Tribal governments regarding the Beam structure. They are preparing letters for county planners regarding the environmental impacts of this structure to the Skokomish system. Moving this house 50 feet would not only help protect my investment but would also be beneficial environmental health of the Skokomish River. I will be submitting letters as soon as I get them.
