Allan,
This is to confirm our telephone conversation of yesterday (10/13/15), in which I asked for a
cancellation of the public hearing for VAR 2015-00012. That variance request was based on
incomplete knowledge of the location of the neighbors' well, the definition of"ordinary high
water mark," and the requirement for a 30-foot offset between septic drainfield and building
footprint; therefore I do not consider it to be a valid request. Also, could you please attempt to
recover any unused portion of the funds I supplied along with the request?

Mr. Lambert:
I have received Y q our Oct. 5 2015 request to postpone this hearing to a later
r date as noted
below. Your reason is that scheduling a trip to Washington state to attend a October 28,
2015 public hearing is difficult for you. Please consider that you currently have nearly three
weeks to submit your comments on the proposal and variance request by letter, phone call,
or email; and those comments will be submitted to the County Hearing Examiner on the
date of the hearing. The comments become part of the record along with the staff report
and any other comment submit tals.
For these reasons, your request to reschedule this Resource Ordinance Variance public
hearing to another date is set aside, and the notice of public hearing remains with the date
of October 28, 2015 at 1:00 PM in Mason County Building 1 (411 No. Fifth St. Shelton). You
are encouraged to comment, provide added information, and/or discuss the variance
request with me. Thank you for your input on this public hearing matter.

We are property owners on the adjacent South side and East side of the
property covered in the above variance request that would be affected by any
variance that may be granted on the application. We therefore want to
attend any hearing regarding this variance request.
Unfortunately, prior commitments make it impossible to attend on October 28
or the following hearing date, November 11. We understand the requests are
only heard on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month. We therefore
respectfully request a postponement of the hearing until one of these dates,
in order preferred:
December 23, 2015
December 9, 2015
November 25, 2015
January 6, 2016
We are sending this request by e-mail and by USPS 1st Class mail.
