L- The proposed work is an interim emergency measure and will be replaced/modified by the construction of road improvements currently being designed involving a bridge, channel reconnection, bank protection, culvert crossings, and raising the road grade in several locations. (Lead agencies may modify this form to include additional specific information on project description.) The project is to modify approximately 3,000 feet of roadway to reduce flooding at low points. There will be no change in use. The work involves a grade adjustment and ecology block road protection along approximately 950 feet of roadway, and placement of ecology block flood protection wall along 2,400 feet of roadway and parallel earthen berm. The two techniques for modifying the road overlap with each other and total approximately 3,000 feet of roadway modifications. Ecology blocks will be embedded 6 inches, lined with a membrane, and faced with quarry spall to protect against erosion. 12. Location of the proposal. An estimated 5,850 cubic yards of crushed rock road base, precast concrete block, and quarry spall from a commercial source will be placed within the road R-O-W to adjust the grade and prevent overtopping during flood events affecting the roadway. The purpose is to reduce frequency, duration, and severity (depth) of flood waters over the roadway during flooding. f. Could erosion occur as a result of clearing, construction, or use? If so, generally describe. Materials will be placed in flat previously disturbed and maintained road and shoulder areas. The work would not be expected to increase erosion potential or risk. g. Flow will be directed away from the road surface so that drainage from the north will flow along the north side of the road and drainage from the south will flow along the south side of the road rather than inundating and crossing over the top of the road in several locations. d. Proposed measures to reduce or control surface, ground, and runoff water, and drainage pattern impacts, if any: The purpose of the project is to improve drainage patterns by reducing inundation and flows overtopping the road, thereby improving conditions for the traveling public. The project has been planned, scaled, and designed to avoid significant flow alterations that would potentially adversely affect downstream and properties. 4. Plants �. a.
