Tree appears to have been struck by lighting and has a significant wound and crack along most of the trunk looking as if to have compromised the trees structural integrity. This tree also is co-dominant showing signs of possible decline. Douglas Fir Pseudotsuga menziesii is an estimated 70'tall, is 32" in diameter, Located 40' feet from the water bank and 35' from house. This tree has been in decline and has previously had the dead top removed 2 years ago and has since declined further an estimated 50%. It shows signs of rot at the basal area shown by secondary decomposer conks located on the trunk of the tree. Reasons For Removal Both trees are in evident decline and show pruning is not an option. They are both a hazard to client that of which includes; lives, house, and highly trafficked areas. Proposed Replacement Tree Being in proximity to the house, the proposed replacement trees shall be planted should not reach a maximum height of 35' suggested native species are: Vine Maple Acer circinatum.
