Proper erosion and sediment control practices must be used on the construction site and adjacent areas to prevent upland sediments from entering the aquatic environment. Erosion control measures must be in place prior to any clearing, grading, or construction. Any discharge of sediment-laden runoff or other pollutants to waters of the state is in violation of state regulations. Any work in or adjacent to waterways that will adversely affect water quality must receive specific prior authorization from the Department of Ecology.
