Reference: Assessment of Pre-Fabricated Bridge to be Located at 2297 Tahuya River
Road in Tahuya, Washington
Dear Mr. Neyhart,
Envirotech Engineering (Envirotech) completed this assessment of a former flat car to be used as
a bridge for the referenced property. The bridge is a total of 89 feet in length and 13 feet wide,
and will be placed on the abutments that span approximately 81.3 feet. The bridge consists of a
composite wood decking with steel under-structure. Two main steel stringers of 18 inches in
depth run the entire length of the bridge. Additional steel bracing required for bending moment
and lateral capacity spans about 1/2 the bridge length, and is located in the center of the
prefabricated structure. The bridge is reported by the distributor to have a 125,000 pound load
capacity. Please see the 5 attachments to this letter with relation to capacity, profile and bridge
components.
The owner provided all load capacity, fabrication and bridge span information. Envirotech will
field verify the provided information after the bridge is delivered. Based on all provided
information, expected bridge parameters, and abutment design, it is our opinion that the new
bridge will accommodate a vehicle gross weight of 45,000 pounds.
