Raise wooden bridge to original level and repair abutment cap. Relocate large cedar log now over the water to left river bank according to H.P.A. requirements. Bridge will be braced for support while repairs made. within TAHUYA RIVER Along Tahuya River on Neyhart Farm; 2297 N.E. Neyhart We recently received a copy of the following information from Mason County concerning your proposed project. ( ) Determination of Nonsignificance (x ) Shoreline Permit Exemption ( ) Environmental Checklist ( ) Other: Your project may require authorization from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers under the following regulations: (x ) Section 10 of the River and Harbors Act - A Section 10 permit is required for construction in or over any navigable waters of the United States. ( x ) Section 404 of the Clean Water Act - A Section 404 permit is required for the following activities: a. The addition of material, including deposition of dredged material or excavated soils, or excavation in a water of the United States, including wetlands. These activities can include filling, grading, mechanized land clearing, ditching, channelization, and other excavation activities that destroy or degrade waters of the United States (tidal waters, lakes, rivers, streams and wetlands) . b. The placement of piling when such placement has or would have the effect of a discharge of fill material in the waters of the United States, including 'wetlands. Wetlands mean those areas that are inundated or saturated by surface or ground water at a frequency and duration sufficient to support, and under normal circumstances do support, a prevalence of vegetation typically adapted for life in saturated soil conditions.
