Spring Rally RESOLUTION NO. 36-84 SPRING RALLY WHEREAS, Washington was the first state to enact compre- hensive, statewide litter abatement legislation; and WHEREAS, this program has produced effective litter control and recycling programs throughout the state; and WHEREAS, these programs have helped make Washington one of the cleanest states and produced one of the most successful independent recycling industries in the nation; and WHEREAS, it is important to focus continued public attention on such programs to preserve the natural beauty of our state; and WHEREAS, a statewide spring cleanup, recycling, and beautification program is being co-sponsored by the Department of Ecology, Committee for Litter Control and Recycling, and the Washington State Recycling Association; and WHEREAS , Mason County is one of the thirty-nine counties of the State of Washington; NOW, THEREFORE, the Board of Mason County Commissioners , do hereby proclaim April 22 through April 28 , 1984 , as MASON COUNTY CLEANUP, RECYCLING, AND BEAUTIFICATION WEEK in Mason County, Washington State, and we call on all citizens to join in this spring cleanup, recycling, and beautification effort during that week, and to continue their dedication to such efforts throughout the year.
