Handicapped Discrimination Regulations RESOLUTION NO. 19-84 REVENUE SHARING HANDICAPPED DISCRIMINATION REGULATIONS WHEREAS, the County of Mason wishes to implement regulations prohibiting handicapped discrimination; and, WHEREAS, the Office of Revenue Sharing published final regu- lations in the Federal Register prohibiting handicapped discrimination and, THEREFORE, the County Commissioners of Mason County establish the following time table to ensure compliance with the regulations prohibiting handicapped discrimination® 1. Immediately prepare a public notice (copy attached) to give initial notification to the public , applicants and employees, that Mason County has a policy against discrimination. 2 . Do a Self-evaluation prior to October 17 , 1984 to evaluate programs and activities, policies and practices to determine areas of noncompliance with the Handicapped Discrimination Regulations and to make "nonstructural changes" to achieve compliance. 3 . Prepare a Transition Plan if it is determined that "structural changes" are needed. Structural changes must be completed prior to October 17 , 1986 . 4 . Make a copy of the Self-evaluation and the Transition Plan available to the public and maintain on file for three (3) years. 5 . Designate a "responsible employee" to be included in the initial public notice (number 1 above) . 6 . Adopt prior to October 17 , 1984 a grievance procedure to provide for prompt and equitable resolution of complaints alleging handicapped discrimination.
