RE: Shoreline pre-inspection. Section 7, T.22N, R.3WWM. Lots 1 & 2 of
Olympic Beach.
An inspection of the subject property was conducted on Tuesday, March 2. The following
information are the partial findings of that inspection. Enclosed, you will find information
pertaining to residential development on sborelands, the Shoreline Permit process, relating to
the grading associated with the establishment of the driveway and cuts necessary foi the siting
of the residence. Also included is information regarding bulkhead policy, regulation and
construction.
Keep in mind that the residence must maintain 10'sideyard setbacks. This distance is measured
from the dripline of the structure to the lot line. No structure may be built over a property line.
The method used for determining the shoreyard setback is outlined in the Residential Chapter
of the Mason County Shoreline Master Program, which I have enclosed. The residence may be
no higher than 35 feet in height above surrounding grade. You will also need an address. I
have enclosed an Address Request Form. Having a site address will aide in the permitting
process and you'll need one any way. It is advisable that you contact Jay Hannon of the Mason
County Public Works Department to see if there is a county road access permit on file for your
property if not, you will need to get one from that department.
If you have any questions about the information provided please contact this office at 427-9670,
ext. 295.
