Dear Diane,
Thank you for your letter dated sept. 16,2003.
1. In response to# 1,the fill was supposed to be placed on the homesite area. There
is a surveyed line, as indicated on the enclosed map that encompasses the low
area. A small portion of fill was placed( about 40' x10')within the surveyed low
area. I propose to move the material as soon as a building permit is issued. I
would also be happy to show you the boundary lines of the low area if you would
like to meet at the site.
2. The lot is 84,662 square feet. The impervious surface that will be created by the
project is 3172 square feet., which equals less than 4% coverage.
3. I will obtain a new permit for a driveway which enters to the west. Enclosed you
will find a revised plot plan that shows the proposed change. I will discuss the
driveway with Alan Eaton and make the necessary application for an access
permit
4. Enclosed, please find a copy of the notification of aquifer recharge area that has
been recorded.
I would be happy to discuss this with you further, or meet at the site if needed.
I can be reached at 360-490-2837 (cell ) or 360-898-7002 (home).

Please provide information regarding this issue.
2. Please indicate how much impervious surface will be created by the
proposed project. Include rooftops, driveways and other paved areas.
Staff recognizes that the Mason County Building Department reviewed
the subject property on August 29, 2003, in order to assess the soil
compaction and fill of the proposed foundation of the property.
3. A more westerly location for the driveway was proposed due to
flooding concerns. It is recommended that an alternate driveway
location be provided for the current development. Mason County Public
Works can assist you in this matter.
In addition, the subject property is located within an Aquifer Recharge
Area. The owner of any site within a designated Critical Aquifer
Recharge Area as identified in the Mason County Critical Aquifef
Recharge Areas map, on which a development proposal is submi
must record a notice with the Mason County Auditor.
Once the Title Notification is recorded with the Mason County Auditor's
Office, a copy of the notice is to be submitted to the Mason County
Planning Department. This copy is required prior to the issuance of the
Building Permit(s). A form has been attached for your convenience.
Please complete, sign, record and return the form to this office as soon
as possible to avoid delays in the processing of your permit. Please be
prepared to pay $19.00 for the first page and $1.00 for each additional
page at the time of recording. Also included for your referral is the
Critical Aquifer Recharge Areas section of the Mason County Resource
Ordinance.
