Dear Emily, The SEPA review process for your proposal has been completed. Comments were received from the Wash. State Dept . of Ecology. The comments are attached. The proposal is consistent with the applicable goals, and policies of the Shoreline Management Act and the Mason County Shoreline Master Program. It does not appear that the project will adversely affect the water quality and therefore, DCD staff does not feel that the short term water quality modification will be required from the Department of Ecology. Please feel free to contact them if you have any questions . I spoke with Mike Byrne, Building Dept . Director. He recommended that you apply for a Building Permit for the foot bridge. I have enclosed a Building Permit Application. The completed application should be returned with two sets of structural drawings and a site plan showing the length and with of the foot ridge. The proposed 24" width should be increased to 3 ' for Building Code safety requirements and the log supports and other materials should be pressure treated to meet the Building Code. If you have any questions, please contact either me or Mike at 427- 9670 , ext 360 or ext 364 . Thank you. Sincerely, Grace Miller, Planner DEPT. OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT . / Recycled
