WHEREAS , RCW 18 . 73 . 073 authorizes Mason County to create a
local emergency medical services advisory council composed of
persons representing health services providers , consumers , and local
government agencies involved in the delivery of emergency medical
services ; and ,
WHEREAS , such a council can make important contributions in the
development and maintenance of emergency medical services in Mason
County ; and ,
WHEREAS , such services are necessary for the health , safety ,
and welfare of the residents of Mason County ; NOW, THEREFORE ,
BE IT RESOLVED THAT a Mason County Emergency Medical Services
Advisory Council shall be and is hereby established ; and ,
THAT the Council shall be composed of one representative from
each of the following :
Mason County Commissioners
Hospital District Commissioners
City of Shelton Commission
Mason County Sheriff ' s Department
City of Shelton Police Department
City of Shelton Fire Department
Washington State Patrol
Mason County Emergency Services Department
Privately-owned ambulance company
Medical Program Director
Mason County CPR Association
Plus :
One Fire District representative from each of 15 fire districts
One citizen /consumer representative from each of the three
Mason' County Commissioner Districts _
THAT each representative and his / her designated alternate who
shall serve in the representative ' s absence shall be appointed by
the Mason County Commissioners for a term of years as determined by
his/ her group .
THAT any group represented on the Council must be actively
organized to be eligible for membership on the Council .
THAT the Council shall act in an advisory capacity for the
analysis , coordination , evaluation , planning , development of
standards and regulations and other related aspects of the county
emergency medical system( s ) ; provided that the implementation ,
management , and control of such system( s ) shall be solely at the
discretion of the County , Hospital District , City of Shelton , and
Fire Districts within their authority and jurisdiction as defined by
law .
