Box 578, Shelton, WA 98584 (360) 427-9670 DATE: 06/01/98 TO: DENNIS SHRIVER P.O. BOX 2315 SHELTON WA 98584 RE: Residence Case No. : SPI98- 0055 Parcel No. : 321275300165 Dear Applicant : As part of this department ' s review on your permit application, a Shoreline (SPI) site inspection was performed on your property. Below you will find comments made regarding the proposed development and it ' s critical values . In some cases, setbacks for development from shorelines, steep slopes, streams, and wetlands must be included in your specific proposal ; these setbacks are included as part of the comments listed below. Please contact me at (360) 427-9670 or (360) 275-4467, ext . if you have any questions . Sincerely, ti Land Use -anner Department of Community Development COMMENTS: Site inspected by Grace Miller and owners on 5/22/98 . Cranberry Creek is regulated by Mason County Shoreline Master Program as a Conservancy environment and a Type I water by the Mason County Interim Resource Ordinance. Currently this means that there is a 100 ' buffer area requirement between creek and development. This measurement for a setback and buffer could change in the future. The applicant' s proposed setback areas are both sufficient distance from the creek to meet this setback. The residence will most likely be placed near the cul-de-sac of Barnsby St. The culvert and drainage from it are not regulated by Mason County with setback requirements . The proposed setback area for the residence is hereby approved and you can apply for a Building Permit. I have enclosed the application forms for a mobile home. I spoke with the Environmental Health Specialist who reviewed and approved your septic system application. Her name is Pam Denton. Pam looked over your records and informed me that the design meets current code for vertical separation for bedrooms. You need to go back to the designer to see if he wants to tie in second home to drainfield. Typically it is a hardship case when this is permitted. If designer can show that the current system can handle the additional connection, you will need to apply for a $30 maintenance permit. If not, you will need a new permit. Soils look good for new system. Contact Laura Benefield at 427 -9670 ext. 361 if you have any questions or need to make an appointment regarding your septic system process.
