Kellison 317 West Cloudy Kent, WA 98032 RE: Lake Limerick Lot 106 - Parcel # 321275300106 Dear Mr. Kellison A recent site inspection revealed a swamp at 75 feet of the proposed primary and reserve drainfields . Wac 246-96-100 requires that a drainfield be located at least 100 feet from all surface water. Below are some options you may wish to consider: 1) apply for a variance which may reduce the setback to surface water from 100 feet to 75 feet. 2) contact the appropriate agencies regarding the possibility of filling the swamp to eliminate the surface water setback. If you choose option one then you will need to contact a designer and have him/her design and stake-out a sewage disposal system incorporating a curtain drain. After this is completed an accurate measurement can be taken and a variance applied for. The design and stake-out are required for all Mason County Septic permits and are not extra items just for this lot. If you choose option two, then we will need confirmation from the appropriate agencies that filling in the swamp was approved. If you have any questions regarding the options you have, then please fill free to call me at 427-9670 ext . 358 . Sincerely Carolyn Jens n Environmental Health Specialist Kellison
