PROJECT: Hoodsport Timberland Library INSPECTOR: Jorge Vargas

KA P.M.: Wes Mahan WEATHER: Sunny TEMP:76'F
At the request of Dave, representing Rognlin's,Inc,I arrived at Hoodsport Timberland Library, located at 40 N Schoolhouse
Hill Rd Hoodsport,WA.At my arrival,I was greeted by Ryan,a representative of Rognlin's,and we discussed the scope of
work for today's visit. The purpose of today's visit was to perform an as-built inspection on a newly-constructed deck located
on top of an existing slab located outside the library(Note:Krazan and Associates,Inc.inspectors were not present during the
construction of the deck).
The Mason County Permit Document,Deck Plan Specifications, was reviewed prior to beginning the inspection. After a brief
discussion,we proceeded to the area where the deck was located in order to perform the inspection, and noted the following:
1)Overall Deck Size was the size specified(15'-3"x 20')with two walkways
2)Decking Surface material used was TREX decking boards(Ix6")
3)The Joists length and size were 2x6"by 20'
4)The spacing of the joists met the 16"O.C.
5)The beams used were 4x6"and followed the 6'-8"O.C.Max,as detailed in Deck Plan Specifications
6)Galvanized saddles and fasteners were present with epoxied dowels as specified in the Deck Plan Specifications
7)All dimensional lumber that was observable appeared to be pressure-treated,per the plans
8)Height of deck varied between 14 and 15 inches
Conclusion:
The deck components detailed in the Mason County Permit Document,Deck Plan Specifications, appeared to be present, with
the exception of the stainless-steel guardrail.Ryan informed me that the guardrail would be added once it arrived on site, and
that the area was taped off avoid access to the public.
