Enclosed please find check #2400 in the amount of $40 . 00 which your
company wrote for a shoreline pre-inspection to be done at this
site for the setback of the proposed residence. Z •2 site inspection
fee was paid for and receipted on 1/26/94 by paying the $40 . 00 fee
for the RLC Checklist . We do not want to charge you or the Bauer' s
twice .
A site inspection was conducted by Planning staff on February 8,
1994 to determine if the setback proposed on the building permit
application of 30, from the ordinary high water mark to the
residence meets the requirements of the Mason County Shoreline
Master Program Residential Chapter. As proposed the setback of the
residence does not meet the minimum setback requirement . The
proposal must be revised so that the deck of the residence is
located a minimum of 32 ' from the bulkhead as measured along the
south side of the side property line where shown on the site plan
which was submitted. Because the deck is over 30" in height it must
meet the shoreline setback. The setback was determined by drawing

north and the minimum 15' setback taken in the center of the lot to
the south. This distance was determined to be 32 , from the Bauer' s
bulkhead to the deck. I have enclosed the Residential Chapter of
the Mason County Shoreline Master Program with the applicable
section and diagram highlighted for your information.
