BOX 578 of 0 1864 SHELTON,WA 98584 • (206)427-9670 August 10, 1995 Doug Weeks and Associates 7712 Chico Way NW Bremerton, Washington 983 1 2-1 046 Dear Mr. Weeks: In reviewing the plans for the Belfair Community Baptist Church (BLD95-0923), this Department has comments on the parking as proposed in the site plans for the church property: On a site visit to the property, I compared what number and arrangement of parking spaces were available on the property. There are 72 spaces painted on the paved surfaces of the parking lot (map. A). There are 90 spaces proposed in the current paved area, using a change in the arrangement of the spaces on the paved lot (map B). The building addition will include 2740 sq. ft. of meeting area, which requires 23 spaces (assembly) plus 6 spaces (classroom) or 29 spaces total. Comments to consider that will affect parking space arrangement: a) four spaces on the north side property line by the entrance should be moved elsewhere; they would interfere with traffic entering the lot and with the handicap parking to be provided by the entry and office portions of the building. b) fourteen spaces illustrated on the south.side of the property (but not counted as the ninty spaces proposed) will not work because the nearby drainfield in the ground area will be affected by cutting into the ground OR may work for some of the spaces if the drainfields are not in that area and the church wishes to remove the children's play area. c) depending on the space between the south property line and the paved access returning to the highway, ten to twelve spaces may be provided as parallel parking along the paved access without interfering with traffic movements out of the parking lot. In order to finalize the parking plan for the church, please consider the above comments and submit to this Department a drawing of the 100 or 101 spaces (72 current plus 29 needed) in the proposed parking lot.
