To Whom It May Concern, Envirotech Engineering(Envirotech)completed a site visit on August 19,2020 to the property in order to observe surface and subsurface conditions. This geotechnical evaluation addresses the proposed septic drainfield area with relation to landslide hazards on and near the property.Information collected from site observations and field testing was completed by Michael Staten with Envirotech. We also researched mapped geological and potential landslide hazard conditions within the vicinity of the project. Subsurface conditions were visually classified as a shallow layer of Poorly Graded Sand with Silt and Gravel (SP-SM) overlying dense glacial soils. The septic drainfield area is slightly sloping. Critical descending slopes exceeding 40% were observed approximately downslope from the planned drainfield. It is our opinion that the proposed septic system will not influence the nearby critical descending slopes provided that vegetation remains undisturbed on the slopes exceeding 40%. Based on available mapping and known geology, earth movement is prominent in the area where stream convergences exist, but this feature is located outside the influence zone. The property may or may not experience shallow landslides. However, we believe that the proposed drainfield has a sufficient setback from the top of critical slope, and will not contribute to future landslides. If you have any questions or need any further assistance, please contact Michael Staten at 360-275-9374. Unfortunately I need a geo specific for this property, I know it's an additional expense& delay. It doesn't look like this is a failing system but a voluntary replacement. One waiver application would work for the tanks to the wells&surface water&sewer pressure line to well. Thank you again Adam.
