DESCRIPTION OF VIOLATION(s): 1) Trailers used for living purposes 2) Multiple RV's on
property 3) Unpermitted covered porch on back and side of home 4) Accumulation of Solid
Waste on property
STATE LAW OR MASON COUNTY CODE(MCC)SECTION(S)IN VIOLATION:
1. A vehicular type unit primarily designed for temporary occupation such as recreational
camping,travel, or seasonal use which has its own motive power or is mounted on or towed
by another vehicle. (MCC 16.22.050)
2. "Recreational vehicle park" means a tract of land that is occupied or designed for occupancy
by two or more recreational vehicles for transient dwelling purposes in accordance with this
chapter(including campgrounds); provided that landowners using their land for personal
recreational purposes may have their recreational vehicle and three guest recreational
vehicles and not be considered a recreational vehicle park; provided further that at no time
shall guest recreational vehicles be occupied for any longer than three weeks in any sixty-day
period on the premises; provided further that landowners using their land for family reunions
and other personal gatherings where more than three R.V.'s are involved shall not be
considered a recreational vehicle park, as long as the gathering lasts no longer than five days,
and that no health problems, litter problems, etc., develop; provided further that recreational
vehicles set up in a permanent fashion,as defined by the building code, shall be permitted as
permanent residences. (MCC 16.22.050)
3. Permits required for covered porch on back and side of home (IRC R105.1)
4. No person owning property in Mason County shall maintain items including, but not limited
to:junk,trash, discarded furniture, scrap metal, appliances,vehicle parts, or other articles of
personal property which are discarded or appear to be discarded or left in a state of partial
construction or repair in any front yard, side yard, rear yard, or public right-of-way or vacant
lot. (MCC 6.72.090)

Voluntary Correction Agreement
ACTIONS REQUIRED TO CORRECT:
1. All recreational vehicles/trailers serving as residences must be removed or stored to
meet Mason County building and zoning regulations.
(MCC 17.04.236/MCC 16.22.050)
2. Remove Covered Decks attached to manufactured home.
3. Remove all forms of solid waste and provide receipts of legal disposal to Environmental
Health.
DEADLINE TO RESPOND: March 23, 2018
ACKNOWLEDGMENT'
I, David Ford , agree to voluntarily correct the violation(s)
listed above according to corrective actions noted above. The County may enter the property and
inspect the premises as may be necessary to determine compliance with this Voluntary Correction
Agreement.
I understand that if I fail to meet the terms of this agreement, the County may enter the
property, abate the violation(s) and recover all of its costs and expenses in accordance with MCC
15.13.060.
1 further understand that if the terms of this agreement are not met, the stipulated penalty of
$250 per day will become due immediately and I agree to pay the amount upon demand.
I further understand that, by entering into this agreement, I am admitting the above
violation(s), and waiving my right to any future appeal before the Mason County Hearing Examiner
regarding the matter of the violation(s),penalty and/or required corrective actions.
I further understand that failure to make the required corrective action within the time
indicated above or extended constitutes a misdemeanor punishable by a fine of up to $5,000 or
imprisonment for up to ninety days,or both,for each day the violation(s)continue.
