Hall, Sr. NE 941 Larson Blvd Belfair, WA 98528 RE: Beard's Cove, Division 8 Lot 7 Dear Mr. Hall, On 4-5-94, our Office received a complaint that the structures located at the above parcel have been constructed without the required building permits. A site inspection on 4-5-94 has verified the existance of the structures and the RV and a subsequent file search for valid permits has failed to produce any permits for the additions or RV. Please make arrangements to apply for an after the fact permit for the structures or a demolition permit to remove the non-permitted structures prior to May 20, 1994. If you should have any further questions, please contact this office at (206)427-9670 ext 356. Perea NE 941 Larson Blvd Belfair, WA 98528 RE : Parcel No. : 12331-51-00007 Legal Description: Beard' s Cove Division 8 Lot 7 Site Address : NE 941 Larson Blvd, Belfair Enforcement File No. : ENF96-0126 Dear Mr. Hall and Ms . Perea, Since April of 1994 our office has continued to receive various complaints regarding the above site. The initial complaint was resolved on June 22, 1994 with Carol Perea. On May 9, 1994 information was provided by her to this department which resulted in our office determining the classification of the structures as "Existing Non-Conforming" . The implications of this classification were explained to her and she understood that there could be no further construction, remodel or additions to this structure without permits and without the existing non-conforming structure being brought up to current code. Other complaints have been received and investigated since April of 1994 and up until July 2 , 1996, they were deemed invalid. The complaint and posting of a non-permitted addition on July 2, 1996 , is valid and compliance is required. Compliance can be achieved by either: Demolishing the non-permitted structure or obtaining an after the fact building permit for the new addition and the remodel of the entire existing structure to bring it up to current code standards . Mason County does allow the construction of detached, one story storage and utility sheds with a roof area NOT exceeding 120 sq ft without requiring building permits however, this addition does not meet the above exemptions . If it could be relocated at least 5' dripline to dripline from the existing non-conforming structure and reduced in size to a roof area less than 120 sq. ft . that would also bring the site into compliance . Enclosed are the required permit applications . Please make arrangements to notify this office PRIOR TO JULY 31, 1996 of your intentions and the method of compliance you have chosen to resolve this violation. Reems, In reference to the above parcel, the Mason County Building Department has been attempting to bring this site into compliance for quite some time . Pursuant to the Uniform Code for the Abatement of Dangerous Buildings, the local servicing utility PUD #3 , has been notified that power to this site is to remain disconnected until notice is given to the utility stating otherwise . The Building Official has determined that prior to any occupancy approval being granted for this structure, the following inspections will be required and correlating corrections complete . 1 . Inspection by the Dept . of Labor and Industries, Factory Assembled Structures Division. This inspection is being required due to substantial alterations done to a portion of the structure which is an RV trailer. In question is the structural integrity of the remaining RV shell . A report of the field inspection is to be submitted to the Mason County Building Official . 2 . Inspection by the Dept . of Labor and Industries, Electrical Division. This inspection is being required due to the notations made by the last Mason County Building inspector who was on site that indicated electrical work was being done to the structure in absence of the required permits . Mason County referred this portion of the complaint over to the Dept . of Labor and Industries for investigation but never received a response . A report of the field inspection is to be submitted to the Mason County Building Official . c 3 . A complete inspection of the structure is to be performed by the Mason County Building Department after the Dept . of Labor and Industries has completed their inspections and submitted inspection reports . Please complete and submit the enclosed pre- inspection application with applicable fees . After all inspections have been performed and inspection reports submitted to the Mason County Building Official, a determination regarding occupancy approval of this structure will be made . In our phone conversation, you had mentioned that you had received copies of the parcel file . This file does not include activities by the Mason County Environmental Health Department .
